Author Interview: Shishir Gupta

How old were you when you knew you wanted to be a writer?

Early age nurtured wish,right from say 12 years.

 

Who are your favorite authors? (Please limit your answer to five or ten.)

I adore Sidney Sheldon,Arthur Hailey, Frederick Forsyth, Harold Robbins, James Michener for their abilities to weave nail biting tales.

 

What are your greatest sources of inspiration?

Human nature and its twists.

 

What genre(s) do you write?

I specialize in poetics where I prefer free verse for the freedom that it offers. I write prose and prefer humor and mysteries.

 

Do you have any current or future projects?

I am writing a poetic novellete yet to be titled.

You need to avoid books on politics by an author of same name and chose books on poetry and novels/monograms on spirituality and philosophy to be able to read me and buy my works.

 

If you could feature just one title, what would it be? 

An Expensive Date- A Laughing Riot-Volume I. This is rib tickling humor and can make almost anyone laugh on ROFL scale.

 

Do you have any pseudonyms?

I would prefer not to reveal them as my collaborators and helpers also use them.

 

Do you have any other hobbies besides writing?

I am very active in many sports and scientific projects.

 

Tell us something interesting about yourself.

I have an inquisitive mind that has helped me gather a penetrating insight into affairs of men and women.

 

Is there anything else you would like to share?

Please try and ‘read’ my books with a deep and open mind. A cursory glancing would lend less than a quarter of pleasure.
